Delphos Downtown Streetscape

The Delphos Downtown Steetscape Program is well on its way by this posting. The curbs are in and you can see how the new layout is beginning to take on a new look for the downtown area. I understand that the town received a community block development grant to help finance this undertaking. How do feel about this project? Do you feel that downtown needed a little help? Do you think beautifying the downtown is something Delphos needs? Tell us what you think.

Think Green - Plant a Tree

National Arbor Day gets us thinking about our need to plant trees for all those that are cut down or die. I also think about those species of trees that have become targets of infestation like the Ohio Ash.

We have been taught over the years to replace, and here in Delphos, we seem to be losing more than our fair share of trees lately. I refer here to the trees that are being cut down by AEP to keep them out of their electric lines. My question here is two-fold.

1) Is there a plan by the power company to replace the trees that are being removed?

2) If not, who's responsibility will it be?

The Erie Canal in Delphos

There has been a lot written over the years about the Miami Erie Canal. All along it's span, there is local history to be told. I've even done some research on it myself. But I would like to hear your stories of Delphos Area history as it relates to the canal. Got a story? Share it here!

The Railroad Hotel

I read some information recently regarding the Railroad Hotel (I think that was the name). Does anyone have information on the history of this building. I understand it is now the antique shop that faces the railroad on South Main St.
